The whole journey

From the first question to the first cry.

Fertility, pregnancy and gynaecology are not separate journeys. Being seen by one specialist across all three means nothing gets handed off and re-explained.

  1. A couple sitting together on the grass

    01 · Trying

    I’m trying to get pregnant.

Whether you have been trying for six months or six years, the first step is understanding why, before anyone talks about treatment.

  2. An ultrasound print held against a pregnant belly

    02 · Pregnant

    I’m pregnant.

Regular, unhurried antenatal care with the same doctor from the first scan to the delivery room, including pregnancies that need closer watching.

  3. A pregnant woman holding her belly

    03 · Closer watching

    High-risk pregnancy

Antenatal care from confirmation to delivery, with the same doctor throughout. Close monitoring where a pregnancy needs it: diabetes, blood pressure, growth concerns, previous losses.

  4. A newborn’s feet wrapped in a soft blanket

    04 · Birth, and after

    Birth, planned together

Delivery planned well before labour, including birth after a caesarean where it is safe, and care for mother and baby after.

More than medicine. A relationship built on trust.

Two decades of obstetrics teaches you that most of what worries a patient is not visible on a scan. It is the question she has not asked yet: the pain she was told to ignore, the pregnancy she is frightened of losing, the treatment somebody told her she had no choice about.

Dr. Vanitha’s consultations are built around that. She takes a full history before she reaches for a test. She explains what she finds in the language you speak, and she tells you which options are genuinely reasonable, including waiting when waiting is the right answer.

Care at Progress Women’s Care is continuous. The doctor who sees you at your first consultation is the doctor who follows your treatment through.

Your first visit

What happens when you come in.

Knowing the shape of the appointment makes it easier to book one.

  1. 01

    You talk first

A full history before any test: what has been happening, for how long, what you have already tried, and what you are actually worried about.

  2. 02

Examination and, where useful, a scan

An examination with a female attendant present. Where a scan or blood test will change the answer, it is done; where it will not, it is not ordered.

  3. 03

    What was found, explained

In Tamil, Kannada, English or whichever language you are most comfortable in. What the findings mean, what they do not mean, and what is likely to happen next.

  4. 04

    The options, including doing nothing

Every reasonable option, with its trade-offs. Watchful waiting is an option and is named as one. You decide, with a clear plan and a date to review it.

What patients say

Reviews left on the Google Business Profile for Progress Speciality Clinics, shown as written. Every pregnancy and every treatment is different, and one person’s outcome is not a promise of yours.

  • After 7 years of marriage… my wife was diagnosed with PCOD… Most doctors advised us that IVF was our only option, and we had mentally prepared ourselves for that path. From our very first visit, her kindness, compassion, and positive approach gave us renewed hope. After just three months of treatment, we conceived naturally.

  • We are truly blessed with twins… What I admire most is her honesty and clarity. She explains things very straightforwardly, gives realistic facts, and prepares you well in advance for possible outcomes and obstacles. Later in my pregnancy I developed BP issues and was very afraid. Because of her guidance and constant support, my babies arrived safely.
